Honors College

A group of students from ECU “adopted” Love A Sea Turtle for their freshmen Honors College project.  They set up a booth on campus to raise awareness about sea turtles, promoted volunteer opportunities with Love A Sea Turtle, and had a bake sale to raise funds for our programs.

MLK Day of Service

Love A Sea Turtle hosted MLK Day of Service with over 125 volunteers – 98 were Boys & Girls Club members! Together, we cleared and cleaned trails, removed invasive species, constructed a fossil pit, assembled fishing line recycling containers, and shared a Monday Meal.

Service Project Video

A group of ECU Honors College students partnered with Love A Sea Turtle for a monofilament recycling service project. Here’s their video recapping the project. “Together, you and me can keep a turtle safe at sea!”

Monofilament Recycling & Sea Turtle Awareness

Thank you East Carolina Honors College students! A group selected Love A Sea Turtle to help with a semester long service project. These students set up an awareness table that included assembling monofilament recycling containers. They are collecting empty tennis ball containers on campus from tennis clubs!!!
