75 volunteers helped Love A Sea Turtle clear debris, clean up River Park North from the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, assemble monofilament recycling containers, and stencil 47 storm drains on Make A Difference Day. Our River Guardians project engages students, schools and hub sites located on or near 4 river basins throughout North Carolina. New sites include Forsyth Country Day School, Bath Elementary School, River Park North and North Carolina Estuarium!
We’re holding Shark Day at River Park North on Wednesday, April 20. A Shark Film Festival with rotating films and documentaries will take place throughout the day. In the evening, local shark expert, Chuck Bangley, will speak in the auditorium at River Park North. Wendy Benchley will follow via Skype and take questions from the audience. Love A Sea Turtle’s student leaders prepare for Outdoor Experience & Leadership Development summer programs
Love A Sea Turtle will partner with River Park North for MLK Day of Service from 9am-3pm on January 19. We will clean the park and trails, remove invasive species, and share a Monday meal together.
