Turtle Release
Just recently, 10 sea turtles were released – 5 green turtles from The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital, Topsail Island, and 5 loggerhead turtles from the North Carolina Aquarium, Pine Knoll Shores. The U.S. Coast Guard and Sea Turtle Hospital personnel assisted the rehabilitated turtles back into the ocean, about 40 miles southeast of Beaufort Inlet. Go turtles!

Baking Cookies to Save The Sea Turtles
I bake and sell turtle-shaped sugar cookies to raise money for the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital in Topsail Island, N.C. You can help the oceans, too, by supporting Oceana’s “Adopt A Sea Creature”. Go to www.oceana.org/adopt to select your favorite sea creature. I will soon announce my plans for a Save The Ocean Bake Sale. We’ll all bake and sell cookies on the same day to raise money for ocean conservation.
Casey meets Oceana Staff

During my recent trip to Washington, D.C., I visited Oceana, the Global Headquarters Office for ocean conservation. I talked to Oceana staff and toured the building. It was AMAZING!
Joe Van Gogh Visit
I visited the Joe Van Gogh coffee shop, Cup A Joe, in Chapel Hill to promote Sea Turtle Awareness and the Sea Turtle Blend Coffee. I am joined by Stephanie and Sarah of Joe Van Gogh. My next stop was Weaver Street Market in Carrboro.
