Turtle Champion Peggy
Let me tell you about a Turtle Champion named Peggy. If you’ve been to the Topsail Island Sea Turtle Hospital, then you have seen her working non-stop in the Gift Shop. She’s there every day in the summer heat keeping everything nice and neat. Since the current gift shop is located outside under a canopy, all items must be removed from the shelves and placed in boxes every day. The next morning, the shelves are stocked again. I’m sure Peggy will be very happy when the new turtle hospital opens with more space for the gift shop and everything remains in place each day! Peggy is another unsung hero who volunteers because of her passion for the sea turtles.
