Baking Cookies

It’s not always about baking cookies to sell that gets a message across. Kids from the Boys & Girls Club asked me to bake cookies with them again – they wanted turtle cookies! Becca, one of the student volunteers at the summer camps, helped, too. We used all types of cookie cutters, but the turtles were one of the favorites. They served the cookies at their “Back To School” cook-out. Engaging them in discussions about the environment is important, too!

Visit with Wendy Cluse

I met with Wendy Cluse, who is the Conservation & Research Coordinator for Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium. She talked about sea turtles for my new educational DVD that will be produced soon. Wendy is a former intern at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital! We exchanged turtle stories! It was good to see Wendy again.
