Community for environmental sustainability

The Community for Environmental Sustainability provides opportunities to engage

youth and the community in growing fresh produce, creating awareness for

a healthy active lifestyle, nutrition education, and learning how to protect

and preserve our environment and natural resources.

Community Garden

Opportunities are available for garden/orchard tours, to participate in volunteer service, and to learn about the health benefits and disease prevention possibilities of fresh produce through tastings, demonstrations and nutrition education.

Fresh Produce

We distribute the garden harvests to local community centers

and soup kitchens. To date, over 10,000 pounds of donated

fresh produce has helped feed our community.

“Environmental justice (EJ) is based on the principle that all people have a right to be protected from environmental pollution,

to live in and enjoy a clean and healthful environment.”

Garden & Orchard Workdays

Students of all ages, families, and community members volunteer regularly to help us maintain our garden/orchard spaces.

The Greenville Community Garden and Orchard provides fresh produce utilizing natural agricultural methods,

nutrition education, and leadership opportunities for hundreds of volunteers.
