Storm Water Pollution

Creating awareness of storm water pollution, keeping storm drains free from trash and pollution, and involving others in environmental stewardship help bring our community together for the greater good. The Tar and Neuse Rivers flow directly through our county and eventually into the Pamlico Sound, which is the largest sound on the US east coast and a vital area for marine life.

Our Paint The Drain - PGV program has engaged hundreds of volunteers to stencil over 2,000 storm drains with the message "Don't Pollute. Flows to the River."
