National Recognition for Camps
The Upstream Downstream Connection was chosen for the Youth Leadership for Service-Learning Excellence Award! Although our high school volunteers come from different schools and backgrounds, we found an instant connection that made it fun to lead the Boys & Girls Club campers into action. We are expanding to 6 camps for Summer 2012!

Inspired To Make A Difference
This is a story that I am so excited to share. 2 girls attended an AIG summer camp and I made a presentation to their group. They contacted me that they were inspired into action after my presentation and wanted to help the sea turtles. They held a bake sale and yard sale. I am really proud of them and very appreciative as they donated their proceeds of $225 to Love A Sea Turtle. We recently got together so I could personally thank them. I see Junior Summer Camp Counselors for the Upstream Downstream Connection in their future! Thank you, Makayla & Katelyn!
Boys & Girls Club Presentations
Love A Sea Turtle, A Time For Science and the Pamlico Tar River Foundation have collaborated in making presentations to our 5 local Boys & Girls Clubs to talk about our summer camp program - the Upstream Downstream Connection, water conservation and recycling.
12-2: Boys & Girls Club Presentation
4th Presentation with the Boys & Girls Clubs. Another club learns about our Upstream Downstream Connection summer camps, water conservation, importance of trees to our rivers and the 40 Gallon Water Challenge. This is a great collaboration with Love A Sea Turtle, A Time For Science and the Pamlico Tar River Foundation.
