Summer 2016
Our outdoor summer programs begin soon! We’re planning nature-based and water-focused environmental programs and activities for approximately 2,000 youth.
Getting Outdoors!
Love A Sea Turtle‘s summer camp program brought nearly 2,000 participants to River Park North – 1,681 were students!
Lots of Summer Campers!
So far, over 1,200 youth have kayaked, fished, biked on trails, and participated in water testing during our 2015 summer camp programs!
Student Leaders
35 students have dedicated their summer to making an impact with youth, encouraging them to try new things, overcoming their fears, and learning about the environment. A big thanks to our summer camp counselors!
Conservation and Leadership Development
Love A Sea Turtle’s Student Advisory Board participated in conservation and student leadership development projects in the Keys. With support from the Williams Family Foundation and Knopf Family Foundation, students were SCUBA certified, participated in conservation workshop sessions, toured a coral nursery, planted coral, participated in fish identification surveys, donated items and toured The Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Florida, and became better stewards of the ocean.
Marine Science Adventure
Our weeklong camp traces the path of fresh water to the coast. Campers learn to snorkel and experience breathing underwater through a regulator.
Welcome Campers!
Our summer camp programs have already served over 800 youth! We’re excited to see the campers each morning!
