Today’s River Quest kick-off included water science, kayaking, monofilament recycling container assembly, and Try Scuba instruction from Rum Runner Dive Shop with a group of students. Next was a tour of the Goldsboro Water Reclamation facility. Then on to dinner at Longhorn for a “Meet & Greet” event. We made new friends interested in our work!

Join the Turtle Team in Goldsboro as we kick-off River Quest! The morning begins with water science, a fishing line recycling project, and kayak instruction for a group of students. In the afternoon, we’ll tour the Goldsboro Water Reclamation facility. LongHorn Steakhouse in Goldsboro will be the site for our “Meet and Greet” from 5pm-7pm. LongHorn servers will provide diners with Stow It-Don’t Throw It containers. You better read the information inside the container because you just might find a winning ticket for a great door prize! The Turtle Team will be available to answer questions about our 100 mile River Quest kayak for river awareness.
