Feed The Bin

Nancy Bray (A Time For Science), Casey Sokolovic (Love A Sea Turtle), Paula Clark (Pitt County Recycling), Susan Daughtry (ECVC), Cheryl Tafoya (Keep Greenville Beautiful)
We held a “Feed The Bin” promotion day at the Boys & Girls Club. Love A Sea Turtle implemented a recycling program for 5 Boys & Girls Clubs. With assistance from ECVC and Keep Greenville Beautiful, students can now “feed the bin” at their clubs. A celebration was held on Friday and the students watched a recycling movie, enjoyed popcorn and took home rulers made from recycled phone books.
We Made A Difference!
October 22 was National Make A Difference Day and the kick-off for NC Students Make A Difference. We held an amazing event at a local high school. There were over 50 kids and staff from the Boys & Girls Clubs, many student and parent volunteers, Kohl’s Kids Who Care volunteers, A Time For Science and Love A Sea Turtle. Many activities were planned for the day – nature hikes, planting trees, arts and crafts stations including decorating reusable bags and making sundials and straw rockets, sports activities and lunch. Of course, there were turtle sugar cookies! The student volunteers were a big help and we had so much fun. We really made a difference inspiring these kids and some of the volunteers, too! The food drive was also a huge success! We had such a great time and can’t wait until next year!
