Recycle and Repurpose
Floating Islands utilize recycled materials to create filtering islands and increase natural habitats.
Construction Process
Thousands of empty plastic bottles were collected, recycled and repurposed for the floating island. Additional materials for the construction were also from recycled items.
Ready To Go
Composted mulch was spread over the bottles and native plants were used. Our volunteers helped to float and secure the islands in place.
