A new program integrating literacy, gardening and food insecurity through cultural exploration.
We highlight foods grown in the garden and orchard through samples - there have even been some transformative moments for some in discovering new foods or rediscovering new methods of preparation.
We enjoy sharing the fruits of our labor! Produce donations and nutrition education are ways we try to combat hunger and food insecurity. Cooking demonstrations and potluck meals showcase our cultural diversity.
The orchard features a firepit/outdoor cooking station and community space designed as an homage to the Native American concept of Talking Circles, an open forum where people are encouraged to voice their thoughts and respect everyone’s opinions.
